Today we decided to paddle the upper Isel, the put in is a beautiful village of Hinterbichl set in the Austrian Alps. The IV+ river starts with a nice 4m waterfall at the top of the village, as we prepared to run the drop we realised we started to gather a crowd of locals and hikers to watch the fun.
After everyone had hucked their perfect boof off the falls and were satisfied with their line the Dutchies and Monkeys headed off down river.

Fast water, big rocks and sharp corners forced us to make tight eddies and a few must make lines. A couple of sections were scouted for safety reason but all sections were paddled. Following ducky style, we all boofed over rocks and enjoyed the scenery. It was an exciting paddle, super fast currents and some technically challenging parts.

The new Jackson rocker and Punk Rocker/Rocker proved perfect for such a trip, their round corners allowed for tight turning and a smooth path around the rocks. It was so easy to learn and execute the perfect boof in my punk rocker. Having a creek boat which I can manoeuvre at speed down a rapid whilst being super comfy and river safe made my paddling experience totally enjoyable!
